Wessex Drainage Solutions can now supply Septic Tanks, Sewage Treatment Plants, Pump Stations and water storage / rainwater harvesting tanks for self installation.

No matter how well your tank has been installed and how well it works there will come a time when attention is needed. This could just be a matter of emptying and de-sludging.

Tank Emptying

If you find that your tank requires more frequent emptying it could be because the soakaway is failing due to the following reasons:

• All sokaways have a limited working life and this is accelerated when the T pipe in the tank breaks off allowing gross solids to contaminate the soakaway line.
• Ground water is entering the tank causing the level to rise, alternatively the groundwater could be entering the pipes that run to the tank from your house. A CCTV survey could identify this.
• Faulty pumps with a pumped outlet.
• Faulty air compressors with a treatment plant.

Tank Servicing

Often just a service is required because the filters are blocked, these should be held on a regular basis and we can arrange these for you. Rarely the tank has collapsed and we can assist with your insurance claim and fit a new tank if this is needed.

As an environmental award winning company we will always recommend the plant that is most suitable for your purpose. Sometimes it is possible to recommend a plant such as a Biorock that has an almost zero carbon footprint. If your site is not suitable we will recommend an alternative making sure that it will have a discharge quality better than that required by the Environment Agency and that the de-sludging interval is as long as possible, so saving you money and reducing the 'poo miles' involved when a tanker takes waste that could have been treated by your unit to a waste site.
